This quilt was a custom order. I worked with the buyer to pick out a color scheme they wanted.

I used really bright colors to make this quilt. This variation on the Log Cabin makes the quilt look like it was made from horizontal stripes, when in fact the pattern is built from sections around a black square.

I liked making this quilt because it is a composite of individual fabrics each with its own unique pattern, texture, and color. I made this because I made one for myself 20-years ago and it never feels old.

I’ve always wanted to try the Churn-Dish pattern because it is such an old classic pattern. I specifically choose Civil War reproduction fabrics.
